Have Questions? Freshman Registration Q&A
As soon as your financial aid offer is available, you’ll be able to view it within your email. Take time to review the offer and understand the different types of aid. Financial Aid verification assures that financial aid dollars are going to the right students. As part of this, every year a number of Longwood financial aid recipients are randomly chosen to have their FAFSA data double-checked, or verified.
If your FAFSA was selected for verification, the Office of Financial Aid will notify you by email as well as in your initial financial aid offer. You may view the items you need to submit to complete the verification process in your myLongwood portal.
The priority deadline to submit the required information is May 10th, but the sooner we receive your information the sooner we can finalize your financial aid offer.
Contact the Office of Financial Aid with any questions.
Beginning in March, students will receive an email about registering for New Lancer Orientation. Orientation is scheduled by major and is being held the week of July 15-19, 2024.
There are a few steps you’ll need to take before sitting in a classroom seat this fall. First, you’ll need to make your class schedule is complete. Information on scheduling is provided in the Start Here modules, as is your foreign language placement test. We strongly recommend submitting your final high school transcript and transcripts from any colleges you attended before beginning to schedule your classes. Once your class schedule is created, it’s time to order your textbooks.
Summer Orientations in 2024 are scheduled by major and will take place the week of July 15-19. At Orientation, you’ll meet with students and faculty in your area, learn more about campus resources and take care of some action items as you prepare for the transition to college!
An Immunization Record (completed and signed by your doctor) is required for all full-time students. The Immunization Requirements and forms can be found on the University Health Center page along with information about how to submit.
If you haven’t already, accept your financial aid offer in your myLongwood account. Fall semester bills are typically available in the first week of July. If you’re interested in a payment plan option, this can be done before or after the first billing date.
Complete your housing application survey when you receive the email. This will allow you to rank your residence hall preferences, select your meal plan and provide information about yourself so you can be matched with a roommate. If you know your roommate or suitemate already, there’s a spot to tell us that, too. Housing information, including your room assignment and contact information about your new roommate and suitemates, will be available July 10. Take this time to connect with your roommate, coordinate who is bringing what, and start shopping for your new digs!
Your Lancer Card (also referred to as your Longwood ID card) is required to enter buildings, access your meal plan and much more. You can upload your preferred photo for your Lancer Card by following these steps. Be sure to review the photo requirements and submit your photo at least two days before you arrive on campus for move in day.
A final high school transcript, complete with a graduation date, is required before you can officially enroll this fall. Not submitting this important documentation can impact your financial aid as well as your ability to move in, so don’t forget!
Your school counselor can email or mail the transcript to us, or it can be uploaded using a service such as Parchment, Common App, Scribbles, etc. Transcripts in sealed envelopes will also be accepted at Orientation.
A great resource for your family is the Lancer Parent Pipeline, a weekly blog that provides announcements about campus news, student events, and other important updates.
First semester tuition is due the first week of August. If you haven't already enrolled and are interested in a payment plan option, this can be done before or after the first billing date.
If you didn’t have this form ready at Orientation—no worries! You can still submit them before move-in day by email or mail to University Health Center, 201 High Street Farmville, VA 23909.
Final high school transcripts, as well as any secondary transcripts (including Dual Enrollment), must be provided by move-in day as well. Transcripts can be submitted online via Parchment, dropped off at the Registrar’s Office on campus, or mailed to us at Registrar, Brock Hall, 201 High Street Farmville, VA 23909.
