Jennifer Hutchinson
Assistant Professor of Nursing

Dr. Jennifer Hutchinson was born and raised in Virginia. She completed her undergraduate nursing education at the University of Virginia and also began her nursing career at UVA. She earned MSN and PhD degrees and a certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner, also from the University of Virginia. Jennifer is a pediatric nurse, and her dissertation research was on caregiver health literacy and its relationship to readiness for hospital discharge. She has prior university-level teaching experience in both classroom and online settings with undergraduate and graduate students. She was attracted to Longwood by the small class size and particularly looks forward to teaching nursing students in the lab and clinical settings. Jennifer lives in Forest, VA with her husband Chris (who is a Longwood alum) and three children, Abby, Arynn, and Aric.
